Our Therapists

Dr. Richard Sheehan

DPT Doctorate of Physical Therapy

Integrated Dry Needling certified
TPI certified

Richard Sheehan is a licensed Physical Therapist and currently the co-owner of Middlesex Rehabilitation. His patient population focuses on orthopedics and sports medicine. Rich graduated from Assumption College majoring in Biology then moved to Boston and attended Simmons College where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. He received extensive education in manual therapy, dry needling and Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilizations. Currently, Rich is level one certified by the Titleist Performance Institute. His focus is using a complete biomechanical approach, unlike the singularity approach of treating a particular diagnosis. Richs' treatment implementation is derived from a detailed gait analysis, whole body composition comparison, and functional movement screening. "Treating and viewing my clients as a whole person rather than focusing on just the injury has impacted my success as a therapist."

Paulo Lage

Licensed PTA

B.S. Exercise Physiology Merrimack College
Licensed Massage Therapist
TPI certified

Paulo obtained his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Physiology at Merrimack College where he played soccer. He went on to play semi-professional soccer for South Shore Select and the Springfield Twisters. While playing semi-pro soccer, he began personal training at various gyms while pursuing his massage therapy certification. Paulo then completed his Physical Therapist Assistant degree in 2009 where he began his focus in physical therapy as well as other facets of health. Exposure has been sports rehab, general ortho/spinal rehab, inpatient/hospital setting and co-owning an athletic based rehab facility. He has trained and treated anywhere from professional athletes to elderly and pediatric populations. Paulo understands biomechanics and wants to apply his knowledge to anyone who is looking to improve sports performance/mechanics or to improve daily function. Working with all ages and abilities is what Paulo feels makes health and wellness fun. He tries to encompass overall health with his clients rather than focus just on one aspect. As a former collegiate and semi-pro athlete, he understands that body maintenance is vital. Paulo feels that if there is a good foundation, then injury prevention, fitness and sports performance goals are more achievable.
